Master of the Universe. I mean Bedroom.

Yay, 3 layers of wallpaper!  I found that underneath a few layers of paint.  Cost me a little time and energy, but it's off, and the walls are now painted, the new flooring is down, and the baseboards are installed.  So, here are the Before, During and After of the Master Bedroom.....just need furniture!   I have something fantastic picked out for the bed.

This is the bed I am ordering, it will go against the dark grey wall.  Fabulous!  Can't wait to get the bedding and artwork up, plus my new shutters....Vince was painting the primer in the bedroom last week in the afternoon for me, and it was brutally hot in there...so I changed from a roller shade and stationary panels for my window treatments to Norman Shutters, 4 1/2" Louver, 3" Ridge Frame, Invisible Tilt, in Moon Dust, which is almost exactly the same grey as my light grey walls...will look awesome!

So I had the good fortune to work with a new client last Saturday, and she is a flooring rep!  See above...of course, we networked the hell out of the situation, and I hooked her up with a pretty sick discount on her shades (awesome mid-century modern type of looks) and she's hooking me up with a discount on LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile)....looks like wood, is tough and easy to care for...the newest coolest thing as far as I understand.  Here's some of the cool patterns we are doing for her house:

So here I go again!

Having done this once before, and blogged it so that people can keep up on the constant improvements, I am doing this again!  This is my new house, and these are clearly the BEFORE pictures.  If you're reading this, you probably know me in real life, and know that I am going to be doing a major overhaul.  However, I am reigning myself in, stifling my natural tendency to try and get it all done in one month and then have a housewarming party.  Hopefully, in the space of one year I have the place looking like I want it to.  We'll see!  There are a lot of projects to tackle.

This is the Living Room looking towards the front door.  The panel cabinet thing is kind of cool, I plan on putting my flatscreen and all the cable boxes behind the panel doors (it's about 48" deep in that alcove) and then underneath that putting a piece of cool furniture, or something.  I'll replace the panel doors (they're like shutter or saloon doors, yuck) with flat panels and paint some kind of cool finish or wallpaper them, hiding the big black TV until I want to sit down and watch TV...like I will have time to do that!

Here's the opposite view of the room.  Brick and Brass Fireplace...obviously I have already Googled how to cover that atrocity up with a cool glass subway tile or mosaic tile.  The Brass part I am not sure what to do with, I may have to hire a pro to rip that off and update the look.  The little open shelf to the kitchen is kind of cool, quirky.  The carpet is green, the ceilings are popcorn...That is my first project.  As soon as I take possession, I am having the ceilings scraped and the flooring installed, and then I will move in.  I can do a lot of projects while living there, but not those two.  And, no, I am not scraping the ceilings myself this time...that was a nightmare and a one-time job...never again!  This is the flooring style I think I will go with, a distressed looking, laminate. I saw it in a client's house and was amazed that it was a laminate!
